Theo Tramblinas came to our school this summer to talk to the children in Year 2 about the small mammals that live in our woods. Theo had an easy, friendly manner with the children and certainly knew a lot about the mammals that he was able to find, trap and then show the children. The children's interest was really sparked and they had lots of questions to ask. Theo was very aware of animal welfare and the mammals were sent back to their homes after the session!
Theo is currently training to develop his skills working with education in the outdoor environment; he has had experience working with Merrist Wood College and Sayers Croft Education Centre. Theo is CRB checked. If you are looking for an activity that's a bit different to inspire children's love of nature I can recommend Theo.

"Bea thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor learning session with Theo, she learnt about the mammals that live in the woods and was fascinated to see Theo trap and handle them. It certainly is something that sparked her interest and I could not recommend Theo more highly as he gives a really unique learning experience for children."

Thank you Theo for such a wonderful birthday party for Willow. I have rarely seen a bunch of girls so mesmerised by nature, and so excited about seeing little woodland creatures, eating tree leaves or testing the waterproof den. It’s such a great gift how you share your passion with the children, and open their eyes to how amazing our wild life is. Apparently' The best party ever …!
When Theo ran an assembly at Plaistow and Kirdford our pupils were fascinated by the animals that he brought in and how to trap them. Theo has a very enguaging manner and he kept the children spellbound for the duration of the assembly. I your pupils want to find out what animals are lurking around their school grounds Theo is the person to tell them. Thank you for a wonderful talk.
Best of luck with the venture
Mr Steven Potter, Headmaster.
When planning our Year 1 topic on ‘Green Fingers’, we wanted to inspire the children to respect their environment and learn how to look after it. We thought the best way to do this was to ‘kick off’ our topic with a field trip to Birtley House which other year groups in our school have previously enjoyed.
Theo was fantastic at communicating with us prior to our trip and tailored the day to suit our children. Together we planned lots of fun, hands-on activities in keeping with a ‘survival’ theme and Theo organised the timings very well to ensure the children got the most out of their day. The children’s favourite activities included fire-making, den building and pond dipping.
Theo and his assistant were very patient with the children and very engaging. You can tell that they both love their job! The adults were also taken good care of with lots of coffee and chocolate biscuits on offer. I would highly recommend a day-out with NatureDayz.
